What's the difference between self-host and hosted?+
Same code, different deployment. Self-host means you clone the repo, set up Postgres + Resend, deploy to your own server — free forever, but you do the ops work. Hosted means we run it on usesled.com, handle backups + uptime + updates + email delivery. You pay for convenience.
Can I switch from hosted to self-host later (or vice versa)?+
Yes. There's no data lock-in — both use the same Prisma schema. Export your DB from one, import to the other. Or run both in parallel for different programs.
What counts as an affiliate?+
Anyone who signs up via your /yourslug/join page. We count signed-up people, not active ones. If a Free-plan customer has 3 affiliates, the 4th signup is blocked until they upgrade.
Why $12 for the first 90 days?+
We're early. Early customers get the intro price as a thank-you for trusting an early-stage product. After 90 days you move to $19.00/mo automatically — no email reminder needed.
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes. Cancel from the Polar customer portal (linked in your billing page). You keep Pro until the end of the current billing period, then you go back to Free. Your data stays.
What happens to my affiliates if I downgrade?+
They stay. Their dashboards still work, conversions still get tracked. You just can't add a 4th affiliate while on Free. Existing ones above the limit aren't deleted.
Do I need a Polar account?+
Only if you use Polar as your payment provider. Sled also supports Stripe and a generic webhook for Lemon Squeezy, Paddle, Gumroad, etc.
Who handles paying my affiliates?+
You do. Sled tracks who's owed what — you send the payment manually (PayPal, Wise, bank, crypto) and click “Mark paid”. We don't move money, so we don't need KYC, payment processing fees, etc.
Is there a free trial of Pro?+
The Free plan IS the trial — it's permanent, not 14 days. Use it until you have 3 affiliates, then upgrade if you want more.
Do you take a cut of my revenue?+
No. Flat monthly price. Whether you make $100/mo or $100,000/mo in affiliate revenue, the price is the same.
